What's in a name?

The other day my aunt was over to show me her pictures from her recent trip to Norway. I'm Norwegian and have wanted to travel to Norway for some time. Seeing her pictures made me want to go even more. Who would want to travel to a beautiful country like Norway? A country that is surrounded by mountains and water, it is also filled with interesting architecture like these stave churches which were built more than 500 years ago.

Last year I heard a local author, Nancy Brook, speak at an event at the Yellowstone Art Museum. She was promoting Cycling, Wine, and Men: A Midlife Tour de France, her book about her journey through life. Brook was going through difficult times in her life and decided to go on a cycling tour through France. This book chronicles her journey and her discoveries about herself. After listening to her and then reading her book, I realized I needed to take the time and enjoy my natural surroundings. I am a cyclist and over the last year I started to keep a journal of my cycling adventures. I often bring my camera along to try and capture the beauty of my rides.

So what's with the name of this blog? It means "Cycling Days" in Norwegian. I think my ultimate vacation would be to plan a cycling trip through Norway. In order to do this I need to accomplish a few things:

                     1. Learn Norwegian
                     2. Go to Norway to get a feel for the country
                     3. Start mountain biking
                     4. Go back to Norway to begin my tur til Norge (tour of Norway)

Until I can accomplish those things, I'll start documenting my explorations of Montana as seen from my bicycle.
